Often when we set out to do something, we are motivated and have a good feeling about achieving what we have set out to do, however, along the way, that feeling usually fades and what remains is raw, pure determination but many times this is absent. We have all been there, matter of fact as I write this am fighting thoughts of just giving up and keeping this in drafts so by the time you are reading this, I just kept at it till the end.

Motivation Vs Discipline

Motivation is always in high supply; we have lots of adrenaline shots of it everywhere on the internet, but discipline, on the other hand, is in short supply; it's the daily decision to keep at something regardless. That might mean praying in the morning even when you do not feel like it, or completing an assignment long after the deadline, but you finish it regardless.

Motivation gets you started but discipline carries you through to the end. Every winner has felt the urge to quit but they resisted it and just kept at it, regardless.

The sacrifices and effort required to maintain self-control and adhere to a strict regimen or set of rules is  the price of discipline.

Discipline is expensive, but I have come to learn that there is a reward for it, just like the Bible says in Hebrews 12:11. Focus is the price one pays to be disciplined, and in this generation, focus is one of the core skills of any winner. Motivation fires you up, but discipline demands more of you at every step of the way. Discipline means you focus on something until it's done, regardless.

Doing it, regardless

A combination of focus, consistency, and constant reminders of why you started something are the ingredients I have come to understand about doing something regardless of how I feel about it, whether the conditions are favorable or not,  what people think of me while I am doing it, etc, etc.

So this is your reminder to just keep at it, regardless.
